The 4-piece bathroom is what most Toronto families actually need.
The 4-piece bathroom — toilet, vanity, shower, and tub — is the standard family bathroom in Toronto homes, and the configuration most buyers expect to find. We renovate 4-piece bathrooms with the same certified Wedi Pro waterproofing, premium tile work, and quality finish that we bring to every project. Whether you are refreshing a dated bathroom before a sale or doing a full gut renovation, we give you a line-by-line quote, start on schedule, and back the work with a written 10-year warranty on every wet surface.
Scope of work
What's Included in a 4-Piece Bathroom Renovation
Four fixtures, one complete renovation. The tub and shower each need their own waterproofing — here is what we handle from demolition through to final walkthrough.
Book a Free ConsultationDemolition to bare structure, then certified Wedi Pro waterproofing on every wet surface. In 4-piece bathrooms — particularly older Toronto homes — neither the shower surround nor the tub surround typically has proper waterproofing behind it. We fix this at the foundation before any tile goes up.
Custom shower build with floor and wall tile, built-in niche, and glass enclosure. Bathtub supply and plumbing connection — alcove, freestanding, or drop-in depending on the space. Both properly waterproofed and finished to spec. Shower head, hand shower, and valve installed.
Vanity installation with countertop and undermount sink, toilet replacement, all faucets and hardware. Floor tile and any accent or feature tile throughout the bathroom. We handle all fixture selection guidance or work with your own selections.
All supply and drain plumbing connections, GFCI outlets, vanity lighting, exhaust fan replacement, and optional heated floor installation. All to code, permitted where required, and coordinated by us.
Why Pilkowski
The Difference Is in the Details
A 4-piece bathroom has two wet areas — the shower and the tub surround. Both need proper waterproofing. Most failed 4-piece bathrooms fail in the tub surround first, because contractors treat it as less critical than the shower. We waterproof both identically.

The process
From First Call to Final Walkthrough
Four stages. No handoffs, no surprises — Chris Pilkowski is on-site at every one of them.
We come to you. We walk the space, take measurements, and have a real conversation about what you want out of your bathroom — how you use it today, what frustrates you about it, and what you want it to feel like. Then we put a plan together.
- Full written scope of work
- Line-by-line itemized quote, no vague numbers
- Honest assessment of your plumbing and electrical
- No pressure, no obligation
Before a single wall comes down, you see exactly what your new bathroom will look like. We render the full space in 3D: tile layout, shower design, fixtures, glass, lighting. If something needs adjusting, we adjust it now — not mid-build when it costs real money.
- Full 3D render of your new bathroom
- Tile, fixture, and finish selection guidance
- Included free with every renovation booked this month
- Changes are easy here — not after demo
Demolition, then Wedi Pro waterproofing before a single tile goes up. Then tile, glass, fixtures, plumbing, and electrical — in the right sequence, on the schedule we committed to, with the same crew from start to finish. You know who is in your home every day.
- Wedi Pro certified waterproofing on every wet surface
- Same crew throughout — no random subcontractors
- Progress updates when you want them
- Worksite cleaned at the end of every day
We walk the finished bathroom together. Every tile, every fixture, every detail — you check it all. We are not done until you are satisfied. Then we hand you the warranty documents that protect your investment long after we leave.
- 10-year waterproofing warranty in writing
- 5-year workmanship warranty in writing
- Full site cleanup on completion

Most Requested Upgrades in Toronto 4-Piece Bathrooms
The upgrades that make the biggest difference in a 4-piece bathroom — both for daily use and resale value.
A freestanding soaker tub as the visual anchor of the bathroom, or a clean drop-in tub with a tiled surround. The choice depends on the space and how the bathroom is used. We walk through both options during the consultation.
Minimal hardware, clean sightlines, and a look that makes any bathroom feel more premium. Our most popular glass choice in 4-piece bathroom builds across Toronto.
Fewer grout lines, less visual noise, and a clean look on walls and floors. 24x24" or larger porcelain works especially well in 4-piece bathrooms, keeping the space feeling open despite having four separate fixture zones.
A wall-mounted vanity with exposed floor space below it makes a 4-piece bathroom feel more open. Better storage than most builder-grade vanities and significantly cleaner to look at.
A recessed tiled shelf built into the shower wall during the waterproofing stage. No shower caddy, no mold-trapping hardware, no visual clutter. Looks like it was always there.
Electric radiant heating under tile. An investment worth making when you are already doing the tile work — and particularly impactful in a bathroom you use as a primary family bathroom every morning.

What our clients say
Real Results from Toronto Homeowners
Client video review • Mississauga
My wife and I recently had our bathrooms renovated by Chris and his crew and we are beyond thrilled with the results. He talked us through every step of the process and all finishes were perfect to the last detail.
Chris was very professional and is gifted at what he does. Some of the best tile work and remodeling I have seen, especially after dealing with multiple contractors in the past. I definitely recommend Chris to anyone looking for quality work.
We have used their services more than once. Starting with a realistic estimate with clear goals and thorough description of work, through to quality of work that was exemplary. The worksite was extremely clean throughout.
Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
A 4-piece bathroom contains four fixtures: a toilet, a sink or vanity, a shower, and a bathtub. It is the standard full bathroom in most Toronto homes and the configuration most families and buyers expect in a primary bathroom.
A cosmetic refresh with new tile, vanity, and fixtures runs $18,000–$28,000. A full gut renovation with certified waterproofing, custom shower, tub, and quality finishes runs $28,000–$45,000. Premium finishes with heated floors and frameless glass run $40,000–$65,000. See our full cost guide for detailed pricing.
A cosmetic refresh takes 2–3 weeks. A full gut renovation takes 3–4 weeks. We give you a detailed schedule before we start so you always know when the bathroom will be back in use.
In a 4-piece bathroom, keeping the tub is usually the right call — especially if this is the primary family bathroom. Buyers with children look for at least one tub in the home. If this is a secondary bathroom you rarely use the tub in, we can discuss converting it to a larger shower. We walk through the tradeoffs honestly during your free consultation.
